New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity In 2009, New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity ended its 26th year having built 93 homes for families in Orleans, Jefferson and St. Bernard Parishes. Overall in 26 years of service, New Orleans Habitat has helped over 379 families become Habitat homeowners – 278 of those just since Hurricane Katrina.

Global Green New Orleans After the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and the inadequate response of the US Government, Global Green USA made a dedicated commitment to sustainable building in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast.

Make It Right More than 4,000 homes in New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Two years later, when actor Brad Pitt toured the city, the neighborhood was still deserted and devastated. Pitt promised the families he met there, that he would help make it right. He founded Make It Right to build 150 affordable, green storm resistant homes for families living in the Lower 9th Ward when the storm hit.

New Orleans Musicians Relief Fund The
New Orleans Musicians Relief Fund, a 501(c)3 grass roots charity founded by displaced New Orleans musicians after Katrina, provides grants, instruments and most recently, a free concert series.

Brees Dream Foundation The Brees Dream Foundation was founded in 2003 with a mission to advance research in the fight against Cancer and provide care, education and opportunities for children in need. Since its inception, the Brees Dream Foundation has committed more than $4,500,000 to charitable causes and academic institutions in the New Orleans, San Diego and West Lafayette/Purdue communities.
